One of the greatest guitarists of all time, Jeff Beck has died. Born Geoffrey Arnold Beck in 1944 in Wallington England, Beck’s legend began when he was recommended by Jimmy Page to replace Eric Clapton in ‘The Yardbirds’, playing on mammoth records such as “For Your Love”.
Beck followed his brief stint in The Yardbirds with the 1966 release of his debut solo album ‘Truth’, and followed that up two years later with ‘Beck-Ola’, his first studio album released as “The Jeff Beck Group”. Beck collaborated with the biggest names in music history including Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, and countless others. The eight-time Grammy winner was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, and he was ranked number five in the list of Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists”.
