As I sit here way past my bedtime, after a long night of working on Country Tok. As a matter of fact, within the next few days, everything from Dirt Road FM will officially be merged. The last few weeks have been busy. Like extremely busy! I’ve been working two jobs… well three if you include Dirt Road FM. But, it’s the love of country music and the fact that I don’t how to quit that keeps me going. Enough about that, welcome to my new blog. I hope to keep up with this. I don’t have an official posting day yet. So stay tuned for that. Let’s talk about the great things going on in Country music.
Carrie Underwood
It’s exciting to have Carrie Underwood back on the tour scene. As a matter of fact, she was one of my very first country concerts. I had a friend, whose Uncle worked for a sound production company that just happened to be managing her tour as she rolled into Columbus, OH. They asked me during my teenage years if I would want to attend. Mainly, because they knew my love for audio/video production and I couldn’t turn it down. So I set in at the sound booth during her concert, they gave me the VIP treatment. I got to go backstage and take a photo with Carrie and to my surprise standing behind me in line was Jim Tressell (Ohio State Buckeyes Football Head Coach). Obviously, things didn’t go so well for him shortly after that. Just the fact that he was standing behind me in line made me feel special. Carrie will be touring with Jimmie Allen and she posted a pretty cool “Full House Inspired” Tik-Tok.
This weekend is jam packed for me. We won’t be having American Saturday Night this week. I will be attending a comedy show on Friday night. Saturday, I have a Parents Conference at Church in the morning and then I’m attending a Casting Crowns concert that evening. I’m not shy about my religion and I’m a Christian music fan. While I love Casting Crowns, I’m even more excited about Anne Wilson who will be opening the show. Her song “My Jesus” changed my life and I think she is extremely talented and could also be a great Country singer if she wanted. So Anne if you happened to read this, I will be there Saturday and would love to meet you. Check out the music video:
Closing
As I get more in tune with blogging I plan to expand on this. In the meantime, thanks for reading. We appreciate the support that each and everyone of you show us. We have some very exciting things coming this fall/winter to Country Tok and Dirt Road FM.
During an appearance on CBS Mornings late last week with hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson to promote her new album Lindeville, Ashley McBryde got the surprise of a lifetime from Garth Brooks. Visibly emotional, Ashley answered Garth’s invite to become the latest member of the Grand Ole Opry with “It would be the great joy and the great honor of my life.” Ashley added, “There’s Grammys and there’s being a member of the Grand Ole Opry are the two greatest things […]
